It's been a grandiose year with Bruin Open being such a big success, Club membership almost doubling from only 3 years ago, and the Team taking 2nd in SCCBL, finishing in the top 2 at Collegiate Nationals. This also marks the occasion of change as, since the revamping of the Club some two years ago, this will be the first significant transition to the next generation.

So...come on out and celebrate! To top it off, the Club will be paying for part (maybe all) of each person's dinner. THEREFORE, we need you to RSVP by e-mail ASAP at ucla@ucla.edu.

The Club'll be sponsoring a MIXED DOUBLES tournament amongst members on Tues, May 3rd! You sign up and we'll randomly draw your partner from a hat this Tues (April 26). That way you get to practice with your new partner on Friday! Here are the details,

WHO: all Spring Club members
WHAT: UCLA-Bad MIXED DOUBLES tourney (1 game to 21)
WHEN: May 3rd during Club hours (but you MUST show up to Club April 26 to
sign up or have contacted JASON before!)
WHERE: Pardee Gym
PRIZES: TBA (eg. shuttlecocks, t-shirts, ...)THERE MAY THE POSSIBILITY OF A CONSOLATION BRACKET (i.e. if you lose your first match, you drop to a consolation bracket). Birdies will be provided for the tournament. There may be the possibility of handicap points given to teams.

If you don't understand any of this but just wanna play MIXED DOUBLES, show up on Tuesday, April 26! We'll explain it all!

UCLA Badminton places 2nd in the 2005 Collegiate National Badminton Championship Tournament
Once again, UCLA Badminton has proven to be, without a doubt, jaw-droppingly inspiring.

This weekend, March 19-20, the UCLA team set out to take on collegiate greats from around the country in this year's Collegiate Nationals held at UCSD. Despite lacking our complete line-up, the Team was prepared to uphold UCLA's name. Though final scores are still being tallied, the team came back from the 2005 Collegiate Nationals with top honors with many of our players reaching semis and Finals.

CONGRATULATIONS TEAM!
