UCLABad Prez named Most Outstanding Club Sports Executive Council Member
This year UCLA Club Sports has honored Irene as the Most Outstanding Club Sports Executive Council Member for the 2005-2006 academic year for, as UCLA Club Sports Director Adam Pruett put it, "her continued dedication and support to the club sports program." Incoming UCLABad VP/Treasurer, Sharon Liu, has been elected by fellow Club Sports representatives to sit on this eight-member council for the 2006-07 season.

UCLA Run|Walk - Team Champs!
UCLABad shines at this year's UCLA Run|Walk, beating out contenders including the past champion, UCLA Bruin Runner's, to take home the title of Top Team. And then there were the bull-riding, Henna-tattooing, and scavenger-hunting to go with the gracious charity event.

A group of 18 20 runners/walkers will be representing UCLABad at this year's May 21^st UCLA Run|Walk benefitting the Child Life/Child Development Program of the Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA. This is UCLABad's 3rd participation.

UCLA is the 2005-06 SCCBL League Champion!

After several years hovering at No. 2 and 3, UCLA brings home the league title with an undefeated record of 9-0.

Of particular distinction is the win over rival UCSD. In the 2003-04 season, UCLA lost to UCSD with a disappointing 3-12 record. In the 2004-05 season, UCSD defeated a determined UCLA to take the Collegiate Nationals and SCCBL titles. This season, UCLA convincingly ends UCSD's winning streak with a solid victory of 10-5, filled with climatic matches and ear-shattering clamour and an atmosphere worthy of a true rivalry.

Irene Wong takes over as President of UCLABad for the second half of the 2005-06 season, continuing her strong leadership role as demonstrated by her performance as Treasurer, acting way above and beyond her financial responsibilities. The president from the first half, after serving a half-term which included the hosting of the successful BO2005, takes a leave of absence. Irene continues to maintain the treasury in addition to all presidential affairs (SCCBL affairs are passed on to Jason Lee...yah, he's still around).
