VCH End of the Year Banquet - Theme: Out at Sea - COMPLETE!
To celebrate our first real year in operation, we had an awesome banquet with decorations made by An. We had delicious food including pasta, salad, and chicken. (And of course, cake.) If you weren't there, you missed out. We also had an awards ceremony for everyone's hard work, so I better see you at our next one!
June Health Fair - SUCCESS!
Not ones to rest after a month of hard work, we pulled another health fair almost directly after our Westminster Health Fair. Expect us to have three health fairs per year from now on.
Where: Vien Dong Newspaper, down the street from Nguoi Viet. 14891 Moran Street, Westminster, CA 92683.
When: Sunday, June 1, 2008.
What: Three health fairs in a year, an achievement for VCH.
Who: Pharmacist and physician consultations; cholesterol, glucose, vision, and hypertension screenings; BMI; Medical, Medicare, and other educational information; and hopefully you.
Westminster Health Fair - SUCCESS!
Where: Nguoi Viet Office, directly across the street of the Asian Garden Mall. 14771-14772 Moran Street, Westminster, CA, 92683
When: Saturday, April 12, 2008.
What: Just to show how awesome we are, we threw another health fair back in the day.
Who: Nhan Hoa Clinic, UCLA Dentistry Students, UCLA Med Students, Various Doctors, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, VCH, APHC.
Tet Festival 2008 - SUCCESS!
Where: Bolsa Grande High School
What: Just as last year, we had a booth set up that taught children about nutrition. We had a blast manning the booth and being at the festival.
Little Saigon Health Fair - SUCCESS!
Where: Nguoi Viet Office, directly across the street of the Asian Garden Mall. 14771-14772 Moran Street, Westminster, CA, 92683
When: Saturday, October 6th, 2007. There are two shifts, one from 10:00 to 1:00, and from 12:30 to 3:30.
What: We ran a health fair with UCI. There were tons of people being serviced with dental screenings, blood/glucose tests, hypertension, massages, and breast/cervical cancer awareness.
Who: Nhan Hoa Clinic, UCLA dentistry students (LOTS of 'em), UCLA med students, various doctors, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, VCH, UCI, and hopefully, you.
VCH 2006-2007 Events
UCLA Undergrad Health Sciences Professional Resources Fair - COMPLETE!
Where: Tom Bradley International Hall Main Ballroom
When: March 6, 6PM-8PM
What: We'll be tabling... tableing... table-ing... whatever to give info about VCH, with flyers and everything. Show up if you want, but we've got it fully staffed.
Who: The VCH Board of Directors
Tet Festival! [link] - SUCCESS!
Where: Bolsa Grande High School
When: February 17 to February 19 (Saturday to Monday), 10AM to 10PM (9PM on Monday)
3 shifts a day: 10AM-2PM, 2PM-6PM, 6PM-10PM (6PM-9:30PM on Monday)
Dress code: UCLA Gear! And black pants/jeans.
What we did: We had a booth set up at the Tet Festival, where we will set up a game/quiz booth for the kids. We'll be focused on nutrition.
Orientation meetings next Tuesday and Thursday! (2/13 @ 5PM-6PM, 2/15 @ 4PM-5PM)
