VCH

Staff

VCH is composed of undergraduate students who dedicate their time to the cause of the organization. We are all volunteering our time, and get nothing but gratitude and warm fuzzy feelings in return. We annually have internship programs and have open enrollment when a staff position is open. You can reach the group as a whole at vchbruins@gmail.com.

Internship

Internship Program

The VCH internship program is an opportunity for general members to gain leadership skills that they may not have access to as a general member, as well as gain opportunities to more directly assist the Vietnamese community. The program will also help interns gain an insight into and a better understanding of how the board of directors of VCH maintains and runs the VCH organization. As interns, you will be required to attend weekly meetings in which there will be leadership-building and team-building activities, opportunities to get to know staff and your fellow interns better, as well as discussion about assigned projects. Interns will be asked to design one fundraiser that directly benefits the organization, present a short informative presentation at one general meeting, plan a club social, attend a VCH staff meeting, and create a small independent project of some sort that will be used to increase awareness or education of some health-related issue in the Vietnamese community. Due to the ability for interns to grow as leaders and become more involved in VCH, interns often become staff members. The program start date and time is to be announced - an email will be sent out - the program typically is held during Winter Quarter and will last until the end of the quarter.

Yikes! This seems a tad bit overwhelming right? Don't worry, it may seem like a whole lot, but honestly it will pass by like the speed of lightning. What's important is the experience that you will gain: This internship program will provide you with an opportunity to meet and interact with new people who share your support for the same cause. You will have a chance to gain an inside view of VCH and together, with your fellow interns and staff, grow as an awesome family! Most important to us is that you take this experience as a learning one, have fun, and we really hope you can take part in leading VCH for the years to come!

The internship program for 2010-2011 will be underway shortly once Winter Quarter begins, be on the lookout for emails! VCH Internship is a really fun and great learning experience! The application is due on Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 at 11pm.
