Alpha Omega Alpha Sorority Changes Name
to Alpha Gamma Alpha Sorority, Inc.

 

Los Angeles, CA June 30, 2006 – As of June 30, 2006 the Alpha Omega Alpha Sorority will be publicly changing its name to Alpha Gamma Alpha Sorority, Inc. This change will include the following: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta chapters, at the University of California, Los Angeles, University of California, Irvine, California State University, Northridge, and University of California, Riverside, respectively. All chapters will be operating as Alpha Gamma Alpha along with the Epsilon Chapter at the University of Southern California.

The Alpha Gamma Alpha Sorority aims at “unifying students to work toward the advancement of Armenian causes, the college community, and the greater community.” The name-change will transpire in order to alleviate the confusion between the Alpha Omega Alpha Sorority and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, hence aiding Alpha Gamma Alpha in achieving its goals.
