Mission
The mission of APA Health CARE is to Collaborate with existing health care providers and social services to improve Access, provide links to Resources, and promote health Education for medically indigent, culturally and linguistically-isolated Asian and Pacific Islander American communities in Los Angeles County.
How We Work
About twice a month we go into the community and offer free hepatitis B tests and screenings for obesity, diabetes, cholesterolemia, and hypertension. We also educate the community on health issues. Some of the many things that make us unique are our referrals and follow-up services. We don’t just leave our clients hanging. We try to get them long-term care!

Your Roles
The All Important Client Navigator!
Without you, our health fairs just wouldn’t be possible. The majority of our clients are immigrants and speak very limited English. Your job is to make our clients feel welcome, help them fill out the intake forms, navigate them through the screenings, and make sure they get the information they need. Our clients love having you there!
The Dedicated Committee Member!
We do a lot of preparation for our health fairs to ensure that they run smoothly. We have to make sure we have enough health supplies, health educational materials, referral sheets, volunteers, money, and much more in order to run these health fairs. To make things more efficient, we have split these tasks into different committees. As a member you will have the opportunity to join a committee.
