How To Get HIPAA Certified Online

As a federal requirement, you are required to get HIPAA certified before you can begin your participation at APA Health CARE program. It is now simple to get certified within a few minutes.  

1. Go to UCLA Online Training Portal
2. If this is the first time using this portal, type your email address and your password of your choice and click on "Log in"
3. Then simple register yourself in the next page.
4. Go back to either the main portal page or "Your Account"
5. Choose HIPAA Clinical Research Training Course option.
6. Follow the direction to finish your online training course.
7. After you finish your online certification course (5-20 min), please go ahead and view your certificate.
8. Submit a copy to an officer at the next general meeting or APA Health C.A.R.E. fair (whichever date is closest).

One other requirement to be able to fully participate in APA Health CARE is to get necessary training. If you haven't received your training yet, please email apahealthcare@ucla.edu to have a possible schedule for training.
