Learning Objectives
- Students will develop a commitment to provide healthcare to people who cannot afford it and to advocate for access to healthcare for people in underserved communities
- Students will gain a deeper understanding of the social, cultural, economical and political factors that influence health and illness
- Students will acquire and apply knowledge of demographic, health and community factors in designing activities and programs
- Students will improve their ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Students will cultivate their leadership skills by participating in APA Health C.A.R.E. activities within the local community
- Students will improve their civic engagement skills by working with UCLA faculty and staff and members of the larger community.
