Why Come to UCLA?

Moore
UCLA is an extremely unique campus in that it is set in the Westwood area of Los Angeles. This area affords students a college town atmosphere in the middle of a major metropolitan center; only 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean. To the west UCLA is bordered by Santa Monica, to north, Bel Air, and to the east, Beverly Hills.

Not only is the location of UCLA fantastic but the quality of education is phenomenal. UCLA is a leading research university; it was last ranked the 25th best university in the nation by U.S. News and World Report; the 3rd best public university. UCLA offers 118 undergraduate degrees. The university is also home to renown David Geffen School of Medicine, Anderson School of Management, and the UCLA School of Law.

Besides academics UCLA is the #1 school in terms of NCAA team championships, having garnered 97 championships and a grand total 118 national championships. In the 2004 - 2005 academic school year alone UCLA brought home 3 championship plaques. UCLA boasts a rich athletic heritage that include Jimmie Conners, Arthur Ashe, Reggie Miller, Jow Fawcett, Lisa Fernandaz, and of course the legendary John Wooden. Most important to archers though is that James Easton, CEO and president of Easton Sports, is a UCLA alumnus. Mr. Easton's generosity has guaranteed that UCLA will forever have an archery program.

The program is on the cusp of breaking through; having produced two-time collegiate champion Kate Anderson (2004, 2005), rookies of the year Michael Rael (2005) and Brian Anacleto (2007) as well as many other award winning performances that have propelled the archery program at UCLA to new heights.
