Feral Cat Management As far as we know, there are approximately forty feral cats living on UCLA campus. All the cats are spayed and neutered and were determined to be untamable for adoption. These cats not only help human eating areas free of rodent infestation, because the cats are territorial, they also help us by keeping new cats out in the open, so that we can trap the newcomers in time before they become feral. There are four feeding stations around campus, maintained by volunteers who visit each site twice a week. The feeding stations are stacked with dry cat food and clean water to ensure that the cats have a healthy diet. When a spayed or neutered feral cat is seen sick or dying, we trap it and provide it the necessary medical attention. If you are interested in helping out to feed the feral cats on campus, please email us. The task is very easy and it has a great impact on the lives of these animals. |
