Welcome to the homepage of the Ballroom Dance Club and International Folk Dance Club at UCLA

Welcome to a wonderful world of dance. We, the UCLA Ballroom Dance Club and International Folk Dance Club invite you to join us in our celebration of partner and folk dances from around the world. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced dancer, please come and join us into our community of dance-lovers, as we laugh and dance and sing under the stars.

Announcements

Summer lessons start Monday, June 22nd, in the Viewpoint Conference Rooms of Ackerman Union.

We will meet every Monday between June 22nd and August 24th. Meetings and lessons will take place from 7pm to 9pm in Ackerman Union, and then move outside from 9pm to 10pm - check for dancers on or near Bruin Plaza. For more information on any given meeting, please check out our calendar.
We will also head out approx. every other Monday to Westwood Village for refreshments after class.
School year lessons will resume September 28th.
Please become a supporting member of our club to allow our events to continue.

Please join us on Monday, July 27th, for our Summer Swing party from 7pm to 11pm, in the Kerckhoff Grand Salon.

Enjoy a wonderful night of Swing dancing, with the UCLA community. Featuring live music by Dennis Kaye and the great PCC Swing Band. Lessons are included and no experience is necessary.
As usual, the event is free, but donations are more than appreciated.

In order to better serve our members and supporters, we have moved the Ballroom Dance Club mailing list. You can now subcribe to, or unsubscribe from, our mailing list here. Please note that you will not be able to post to this list.

Summer field trips are coming up.

There are several exciting off-campus field trip opportunities this summer, including
  • A Swing Dance Party on Friday, June 26, at the L.A. Athletic Club, from 7:30pm to 12pm. Dennis Kaye and his ten-piece Swing Band will play from 9pm till midnight. Admission is $12 and includes a complimentary swing dance lessons beforehand. Parking is available nearby for $4.50.
  • The Santa Barbara French Festival on Saturday, July 11, from 11am to 7pm. Admission is free, and our instructors, James and Cynthia, will be performing and teaching at 11am and 4:40pm. Please contact us for carpooling assistance.
  • Starting July 9, James and Cynthia will teach additional classes and workshops at Beverly Hills Roxbury Park Auditorium and at the Encino Community Center. Advance registration is required for all of these classes. Call (310) 285-6850 to register for the Roxbury Park Auditorium classes (p. 10-11 of the brochure), and (818) 995-1690 for any of the Encino Community Center classes (p. 6 of the catalog).
