Why become a member?

The number one reason to become a supporting member of BDC/IFDC is our dependence on ASUCLA for rooms for our weekly meetings. This summer, room rentals are $2,000 for a suitable room: sizable enough that dancing doesn't feel like driving bumper cars, and hopefully without carpet. In comparison, an annual membership contributes just under $2 per meeting. It may not be much, but every little bit does help.

This figure, sadly, does not include room rentals for our special events (such as our campus-wide salsa and swing parties). Nor does it include the salary for musicians at these events, refreshments, advertising costs, or other supplies asociated with these.

In addition, membership in BDC/IFDC grants free or reduced admissions for certain off-campus field trips and events. Please check the calendar for details.

Please fill out an Application Form, attach the supporting donation and either
