  The Ultimate Poem or
A Blu Love Song

October came in Dykstra nine,
My second year persevered.
I searched for sport—diversity—
To escape the gym I feared.

Only once before I’d seen this game,
Like a rumor spread,
Once again I followed a whisper
Onto the IM fields I tread.

I sat within a circle of girls
Weary of faces never seen before
Because of commonality at UCLA—
A sorority-like rapport.

We threw, we ran, we watched in awe
As Korb and Popeye showed the trade.
Even when Popeye did flee,
We gained a Nuwer—a better swap we made.

Following our first weekend in SD,
A sign made my Love clear:
The next day I could not utter
A word loud enough for any to hear.

Ultimate I Loved, an addict I proved,
And all knew it was true
When, by complete accident,
For 90 days straight I threw.

Slower to see, but they grew on me,
The team a deserted dubbed BLU.
Yet it was more than friends could be,
We were amour, solid, crazy glue.

I wonder how I ever did without
My life with azure color embed,
For who else would write a poem
Except for one with heels over head?
