"Peace is Possible" Concert with the Dharma Grass Blues Band!
Monday, March 26, 2007
Greetings Fellow Travellers!

I'm writing this message up in delightful `ol San Francisco after the conclusion of the DRBY Buddhist conference I told you folks about the last time. It was a wonderful conference, and the majority of the activities were recorded and videotaped, so all who were interested but were unable to make the trek will be able to partake in the fruit of the conference shortly. Watch this space for more information when the files will be posted.

I hope Spring Break is going well for the students in the crowd, and for all else as well, and I have an exciting event to tell you all about. This coming Friday, March 30th, Rev. Kusala will be playing with his Dharma Grass Blues Band at the OneSpirit Center for Conscious Living in Simi Valley with a variety of other musical acts as part of their "Peace is Possible" concert event. The show starts at 7:00pm, and is open to all. The Center is located at the following address:

OneSpirit Center for Conscious Living
1756 Erringer Rd.
Simi Valley, CA 93065

Phone: (805) 527-0870

If you're in the Westwood area and would love to go, but can't hazard the trip out to Simi, let me know at buddhist@ucla.edu and we may be able to drive a few folks there. Otherwise, continue to enjoy your Spring Break and keep your eyes peeled for announcements here about the new quarter at the UBA!

Buddhist Conference in the Bay Area
Monday, March 12, 2007
Spring Quarter here at UCLA is coming to a close, with finals just around the bend. Thankfully for the students in the crowd, this means the a well deserved Spring Break, to run about to the different corners of the globe and recharge for another rousing session of education.

If any of you will be in or around the San Francisco Bay Area during Spring Break, there is going to be a two-day conference on Buddhism entitled "Wisdom in Action" at the Berkeley Buddhist Monastery over the weekend of March 24 and 25. Our very own Rev. Kusala will be giving a talk, as well as many dear friends of the UBA, such as Rev. Heng Sure, and a whole bevy of interesting speakers, lay and monastic.

The conference is free and open to all, though registration is required. More information, as well as an online registration form, is located at the conference website:

http://www.drby.net/conf07/default.asp

Locally, we are having our last Meditation meeting of the quarter Tuesday, March 13th, at the University Catholic Center located at 633 Gayley Avenue, from 5:00 to 6:30. As always, more detailed directions as well as additional information is available on our website, www.theuba.org

For those who won't be able to make it to our last meditation, allow me to wish you all a safe and relaxing Spring Break, with many wishes to meet once again in April.

This Week's Meditation Canceled!
Tuesday, March 06, 2007
Apologies for the lack of e-mails - I've been out of sorts, or rather, sort of out, but please read below for an update of importance:

Today's meditation meeting, March 6th, has been canceled, though our weekly meditation meetings will resume next week, on March 13th. Our March 13th meditation will be the last meditation for the quarter, and we will resume when spring break has ended. Remember to continue to check the UBA e-mails for upcoming events for next quarter, as well as neat things to do on your Spring Break.

Since this is rather short notice, please let your friends know about the cancellation as well - and to the students in the audience, good luck with finals!
