The Collegiate Athletes Coalition
The Collegiate Athletes Coalition (CAC) is a group created by UCLA
athletes for the sole reason of addressing student-athlete welfare issues. The ultimate goal of this group is to
establish a national players association of Division I-A football teams in
order to influence NCAA legislation.
Mission
The Collegiate Athletes Coalition is an organization that seeks to improve the conditions and lives of student-athletes.
Purpose
The CAC strives to create
a national players association in order to balance the power in NCAA
sports. A players association will give
us the means to accurately and effectively voice our concerns. Most importantly, a players association will
give us the means to prevent and eradicate unjust NCAA regulations.
Some Major Goals
· Increase life insurance policies for student-athletes.
· Increase monthly stipends.
· Eliminate of salary cap in the off-season.
· Allow student-athletes make education their top priority and improve graduation rates.
There are many other
goals being considered and this list will evolve as other schools join the
players association and bring new ideas.
