The student's exposure to the medical field is developed through three health project components of CCM at UCLA. Students interested in providing necessary service to underserved communities can join the Latino Student Health Project (LSHP). This project has been dedicated to providing free hypertension, glucose, anemia, cholesterol screenings, and health education to underserved communities. Students can join the campaign in HIV/AIDS awareness to youth in the Los Angeles region by participating with the Black/Latino AIDS Project (BLAIDS). Members of the BLAIDS project are given the chance to tackle the issues of HIV awareness via creative and innovative high school presentation. Another facet of CCM's promotion of health is addressed through the Donations of Tissues and Organs project (DOT-Org). This Project allows for students to become involved with de-stigmatizing the issue of organ and tissue donation by educating youth and families. Ultimately, CCM cultivates a drive within students to increase access of medical care to underserved communities.
