It is now 1:48AM, and with Tryout signups closed at 11:59PM, the draws are now posted!

There are a few important things to take note of:

Play format2 out of 3 sets, NO AD (sudden death at 3-3 aka 40-all)
First to 5-points Tiebreaker played at 6-6 in the set
If set score is 1-1, play a 5-point tiebreaker to decide
TimelinessSome matches will go overtime, so subsequent matches may start later
Showing up more than 15 minutes late after a court is ready for you WILL result in a default
Tournament formatDouble-Elimination
If you lose first round, check the draw! You WILL get one more match on Saturday and/or Sunday! Check the Tier II/Backdraw to see when you play next.
Sunday End TimeFinals are scheduled for 12:30PM Sunday, but may go later. Check back Saturday night.
Matches with times led by "Sunday" are played on Sunday. If there's no mention of a day, they are played on Saturday
Issued invitesThere is no pre-set quantity of invites the coaches will distribute. It may just be the finalists; or, it may go as far as the quarters!
How will I know I'm invited? The coaches will contact you by e-mail or facebook.
How do I know who got invited?Check the "Player Results" page post-Tryouts.
Competitive TeamThere is a set number to how many players will be chosen to participate in Regionals.
8 Men (There are currently 6 already in Competitive Team practice)
8 Women (There are currently 6 already in Competitive Team practice)
Tournament PurposePlease keep in mind that doing well in Tryouts may earn you an invite to CT practice, but does NOT guarantee you will be selected for the Competitive Team.
As of this moment, we are looking to select 8 men and 8 women from those IN/JOINING CT practice.
If you ask: how many spots are open for the CT? The answer is: ALL OF THEM!

01/08/09 Competitive Team Tryouts (2)

Post by Coach Adeline Yang

Location: Sycamore courts
Start time: 9AM
Saturday finish time: 5PM
Sunday finish time: TBD
Play format: probably 6-game proset

The ending time on Sunday depends on the size of our draw and how many matches are completed Saturday. Please be sure to check the draw either late Friday night/early Saturday morning (it should be on the club website, http://www.uclaclubtennis.com, by 4AM).

Also, please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled match time and check in with an officer. If we have free courts you can warm up, or we could start your match sooner. Being more than 15 minutes late without notice may result in a default.

Good luck to everyone!

01/07/09 Competitive Team Tryouts

This tournament is specifically for competitive players who would like to become a part of UCLA Club Tennis' Competitive Team!
Represent UCLA as we fight for our sixth-consecutive Regional Championship Title in February, and strive towards the National Championships in April!
Success at the tryouts will NOT guarantee placement onto the regionals and/or nationals teams, but will give you one more (important!) chance to impress the coaches.
The tournament will take place throughout Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 9AM.
Signups will be accepted in two ways:

1) Post the following information on this facebook event wall:
--- Name
--- Sex
--- Graduation Year

2) E-mail Coach Adeline with the above information (Name, sex, graduation year)

Sign-ups close Friday at 11:59PM, and the draw will be posted a few hours later.

Good luck, and -
