What is CSA Anyways?
Liou, the Chinese character for the number six, rings the same tone as the character Lu,
the Chinese word for road. Six is the number of decades the Chinese Students Association
(CSA) has been on the road to serve the UCLA community. The first record of CSA's existence
on campus per the UCLA Center for Student Programming dates back to the 1940s, making UCLA
CSA one of the oldest Chinese cultural student organizations among any American university.
Since then, CSA has traveled a long road through the years, promoting Chinese culture and
providing aid to international recruits in generations of UCLA students.

Our Mission
We, the Chinese Students Association, strive to be the most passionate organization in
raising interest and awareness of Chinese culture towards the student population in the
University of California, Los Angeles, through cultural events and activities of various
scales. In addition, we aim to foster a kindred spirit amongst students who are inclined to
expand their interpersonal network, both academically and socially.
CSA works together with the Intercollegiate Chinese Organization Network (ICON) - a network
of Chinese cultural clubs based in Southern-Californian universities - the Taipei Economic
and Cultural Office (TECO), the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China, and
various local businesses to help the UCLA communiy gain access to many networking
opportunities and benefits around Southern California.
