Great job to those who attended practice on Sunday. David and Shou were very happy to once again paddle with their fellow teammates. On that note, UCLA Dragon Boat is has already begun practicing for their next race, resuming regular practices starting this week. Keep up the work Bruins!

Congratulations to UCLA Dragon Boat for a great showing at the 5th Annual College Cup Race at Lake Merced. Blue placed Second in the Mixed Division A finals while Gold placed Third place in the Mixed Divison B finals. Both Mens and Womens crews placed first in their respective divisions. Understanding everything that needs to be worked on, UCLA Blue has now, more than ever, become hungry for more. Meanwhile, UCLA Gold, with the strongest showing ever for a Gold crew, has set new expectations for themselves and will never be satisfied until they are reached.
Thanks to those who came out to support UCLA Dragon Boat in both physical and spiritual presence. Also, thank you to parents who provided housing as well as those who provided food support on days leading up to race as well as on race day. As always, it is much appreciated. The season is long as there are many more races to come so stay tuned to see what more we have in store. U-C-L-A Fight Fight Fight!"
Thanks to those who came out and supported UCLA Dragon Boat with its first Jamba juice fundraiser for the year! If you were not able to make it out this time, not to fear; there are several other opportunities to help out with UCLA Dragon Boat.
The 09-10 recruiting period is now over! Congratulations to the new members of the 09-10 Dragon Boat team and a warm welcome to the Dboat Family! Next up... The 5th Annual College Cup Race at Lake Merced! As we continue our training for this race, lets not forget to have fun. There will be a social this Friday the 9th of October - Dinner and a Movie. Make sure to come out and take a study break before midterms. Dboat love.
While tryouts were happening here in America, seven of our paddlers, both alumni and current members, were across the Pacific Ocean racing against some of the world's finest crews in the World Chinese Dragon Boat Competition in Shanghai, China! The UC Dragon Boat Team placed 10th place overall and 7th place in the 2500 m circle race.
A few days later, the team traveled to Tianjin to race against the local colleges, placing 2nd in the 200 m sprints and 1st in the 2000 m circle race!
In addition to racing, the team also enjoyed comfortable accomodations at government approved hotels as well as first class sight seeing tours of Shanghai, Beijing, and Tianjin, completing their share of tryouts by hiking up the great wall. Welcome Back China Crew!
After two long days under the hot summer Long Beach sun, the UCLA Bruins emerge victorious in the ultimate summer college dragon boat brawl. In addition, the Bruins fought a hard battle against top ranked adult teams and took third place in Division IIB. See the full results in our about section, under race results.
It has been a long summer and the UCLA Bruins will not see another race until the Annual College Cup race at Lake Merced. Make sure to come out and cheer them on! Go Bruins!
