The Chancellor's Service Award is a selective award honoring graduating undergraduate students who have made significant contributions to UCLA and/or the surrounding Los Angeles community through a sustained record of outstanding leadership and service. The recipients of this award are selected by a panel of service-minded UCLA staff members and are distinguished by the blue and gold fourragère, which is worn during the Commencement ceremony. Students in the College of Letters and Science who are recipients of the award will be asked to walk in the processional carrying blue and gold banners and will be recognized during the ceremony.

The application for the 2011-2012 eligibility period is available NOW. Due to the Spring Break holiday, applications will be due by 5pm on MONDAY, April 2, 2012 and NOT Friday, March 30, 2012 as listed on the application.

This award was developed to give recognition at graduation to those students who throughout their years at UCLA have donated their time and energy to making a positive difference at UCLA and in the community. In order to be honored a graduating student must have established a sustained record of commitment to leadership and service through his or her outstanding contributions.

The recipients of this award are distinguished by the blue and gold fourragère, which is worn during the Commencement ceremony. They are also honored by having their names listed in a special section of the Commencement program. In addition,students in the College of Letters and Science who are recipients of the award will be asked to walk in the processional carrying blue and gold banners and will be recognized during the ceremony. Other opportunities associated with receiving the Chancellor's Service Award are available on an annual basis.

Applicants must have received an undergraduate degree in the Fall Quarter 2011 or be an undergraduate degree candidate for the Winter 2012, Spring Quarter 2012, or Summer Sessions 2012.
Degree candidates for Fall Quarter 2012 are not eligible for this year.
Applicants must submit 4 paper-clipped copies of their application to the Office of the Dean of Students, 1206 Murphy Hall no later than 5:00 p.m., MONDAY, April 2, 2012.
Failure to submit the application on time and in the format requested may lead to disqualification.
