The Vitas Film and Folklore Association was organized in 1984-85 by students interested in the use of film and video as a means of documenting and depicting contemporary folklore and popular culture.
We invite you to participate in a
week of film, folklore, and creative expression sponsored by the Department
of World Arts and Cultures. Featured events include the Vitas Film and Folklore
Festival and the Community Festivals Across Cultures Exhibition.
The 2005 Vitas Film and Folklore Festival
will showcase student films from the Departments of World Arts and Cultures,
Theater Film and Television, Design, and Ethnomusicology. Unlike the 2004
festival, this year's smaller format event is designed to foster the growth
of an on-campus interdisciplinary filmmaking community.
