Membership

Membership is by invitation only. Golden Key sends students letters of invitation at the beginning of winter or spring quarter.

Graduate students can join if their undergraduate institution has a Golden Key chapter and if when they graduated they were in the top 15 % of their class.

Requirements

Applicants must have junior or senior standing (90+ UC units, not including high school advanced placement).

Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.6.

Transfer students from a non UC campus must complete 36 units at UCLA with a 3.6 GPA.

If you meet these requirements but have not received a letter, there may be a problem with mailing address restrictions on URSA. Please check with the Dean of Students Office in 1206 Murphy Hall.

Dues

There is a one-time-only fee of $70.00.

Golden Key uses the money for its programs. $9.00 directly supports chapter operations. An additional $2.00 goes to scholarships. The remaining $49.00 is used for membership certificates, publications, national programs, the regional conference, the national convention, and staff support for each chapter.

Participation

Event participation is voluntary. However, it is encouraged that members attend as many events as possible due to the incredible opportunities to meet people, network, and boost a resume.
