The "regular events" list is ivgcf-l@lists.ucla.edu, and it gets about 5 messages per week. To join the list, visit the GCF List Information page.

Listserv Policy
The GCF listserv is a tool for communicating items of interest to the GCF community. It is an electronic analog of the weekly church bulletin, except that our congregation consists of approximately 100 believers of Christ mostly within academia.
Its primary use is announcing GCF events, querying the whole group about potential events, and soliciting opinions from the group about issues that are related to our stated mission: We are a community of Christians in an academic environment seeking to become more like Christ in every aspect of our lives.
Besides the above, some uses that are considered acceptable are: Sharing information that is of general interest to academic believers such as community service opportunities and christian resources, announcement of spur of the moment events that you are personally hosting, requests for help (such as moving, etc.), requests for housing (which can also be done via the community service coordinator), and prayer requests.
Some items that usually should not go through the listserv are: commercial solicitations, "flame wars", political viewpoints, petition circulars, joke forwards, and things that concern only a small subset of the listserv community. These items should only be conducted via specifically addressed emails to those with whom you have a personal relationship.
If you have an item that may seem like a borderline case, please email it to the administrative coordinator first, and have him (or her) make an initial assessment. If you feel the assessment is in error, please submit your request to the general oversight coordinator to bring your appeal to the GCF leadership council.
If you feel that someone is infringing on this policy, please express your concern to the administrative coordinator. Violation of these guidelines may result in a person's removal from the listserv.
