May 8: Movie Screening
We will be screening a drama based on the novel by Nobel Prize winning author Imre Kertész, produced by Gábor Tompa. There will be discussion with Gábor Tompa before and after the screening.

May 15: The Sándor Kõrösi Csoma Inheritance
Csáji László Koppány Asia researcher will be giving a lecture on the Sándor Kõrösi Csoma inheritance and the current steppe civilizations. There will be a screening of a montage of his documentaries, which had been a series on the Duna TV channel.

May 22: Movie Screening
We will be screening a movie in celebration of actress Éva Szörényi's birthday. UCLA student Balázs Kocsor will be giving an introduction.

May 29: The History of Hungarology
Melinda Borbély, Hungarian professor at UCLA, will be giving a lecture on the history of Hungarology.

June 2 : The Bologna System and Higher Education in Hungary
Edit Rohonczi will be giving a presentation on the introduction of the Bologna System and the current state of higher education in Hungary.

All of the above events are free. There is parking available for $8 in Lot 2, in the spaces designated "Pay by space."

Winter Songs
The Hungarian Club will be learning traditional Hungarian winter songs, which we will sing during our 30 November outing at the Consul General's residence. The rehearsals will be held by Melinda Borbely, Hungarian language and culture professor at UCLA and by Balint Sapszon, a Fullbright scholar in the Music department.

Question and Answer Tamás Földes
Journalist Tamás Földes will present his new book in a question and answer session with Hungarian House Cultural Organizer Anna Reeves. The lecture will be in Hungarian, but a translator will be provided.

Balázs Bokor, the new Consul General of Hungary in Los Angeles, has kindly invited the Hungarian Club to his residence for a holiday party.
