The Nidorf Collective at UCLA

The Nidorf Collective at UCLA consists of students from UCLA's Department of Information Studies who volunteer at the Barry J. Nidorf Juvenile Detention Center in Sylmar, California. Volunteers talk about books with the teens at the center and organize book drives to collect materials to bring to the living units.

The Nidorf Collective was awarded a $8,000+ grant for the 2010/2011 school year. The grant will allow us to expand our collection, the services that we offer, and the opportunities for volunteering.

For more information about the Nidorf Collective, please contact Danielle Salomon at Our faculty advisor is Dr. Jean-François Blanchette.
