Added Thursday, April 26, 2012

Hey PIE,

It's 4th week already which means midterms are coming up. If you need a quiet place to study or need help with your classes, head out to PIE's Study Hall this Thursday, April 26 at 6:00pm in MS 6201

Plus, we'll be discussing PIE Board elections happening in week 6. Being a member of PIE Board is an excellent and fun opportunity to gain leadership skills! Email me back if you want more info regarding the 10 PIE Board positions.

Thanks PIE and we hope to see you this Thursday night.

PIE Bridge Build:

Added Thursday, April 5, 2012

Hey PIE,

If you had fun participating in PIE's Sink-or-Swim Challenge last quarter, we've got great news for you. We'll be concluding the epic MacGyver Challenge trilogy this quarter with PIE's Bridge-Build Challenge. Join us this Thursday night (April 5) at 6:00pm in MS 6201 to partake in the fun and excitement which is the MacGyver Challenge.

Your objective will be to create the most structurally stable bridge you can out of the only two materials we will provide, toothpicks and gumdrops. Your bridge must then be able to support ever-increasing loads without failing. Thus, the group whose bridge is able to support the most weight wins the competition.

We hope to see you this Thursday night PIE and bring your A-game to the final MacGyver Challenge of the year!

PIE-O-NEERS:

Added Thursday, March 8, 2012

Hey PIE,

Don't forget that we're holding our PIE-O-NEERS event tonight, Thursday March 8 at 6:00pm in Ackerman Viewpoint Conference Room B. You'll learn about the different Filipino engineers who pioneered the way and made great contributions to the engineering and scientific communities? While you think about that, here's a fun fact. I bet you never knew that a Filipino, Agapito Flores, was actually one of the first to make a fluorescent light bulb! Don't miss out on learning more about this and other cool contributions that Filipinos have made to engineering.

Who knows, maybe one day, you'll be the one of the Filipino engineers/scientists whom PIE will feature in this event.

Thanks PIE and we hope to see you tonight!

PIE MacGuyver Challenge:

Added Thursday, Februray 23, 2012

Hey PIE, If you had fun participating in PIE's egg drop challenge last quarter, we've got some great news for you! PIE's MacGyver Challenge is back this quarter with PIE's Sink or Swim MacGyver Challenge! Yes, you heard me correctly. We're bringing back MacGyver this quarter and we hope you're all ready for some awesomeness this Thursday night (February 23) at 6:00pm in Ackerman Viewpoint Conference Room B. Your objective is to create a boat using all of the unknown materials we provide to you. You'll only have a limited amount of time to build your creations before we put them to the test in Shapiro Fountain. To start, your boat must successfully stay afloat. Plus, to add to the challenge, your boat must also support a given load of weight without sinking. The boat that carries the most weight wins! We hope to see you this Thursday night! We can tell you're already excited. (Plus, it'll be a nice break from studying for your midterms.)

Pie Website Functional:

Added Monday, August 28 , 2011

The PIE website is up and running! If anyone notices anything out of the ordinary or if some information on the site is inaccurate please let me know and I will fix it ASAP. Otherwise Enjoy!

Summer Update:

Added Monday, August 23 , 2011

It's summer and the PIE website is under construction! PIE officers should have received an email about what they want me to put on their bio, if not then unfortunately the default bio is "I like to do silly things and pick my nose." I don't have dreamweaver so I am going to use the old site layout for now, as long as there are no objections.

Some goals I have for the site are:

* create a submission page to allow officers to post events on this site
* create a page to hold meeting notes
* create an unoffical event page??
* link to the old website

So far the links are not reliable, but they will be very soon.

CHEERS!
