Food Not Bombs

We are serving every Thursday evening. Please join our mailing list to receive weekly info.

Food Not Bombs is an autonomous international organization which advocates that food is a right, not a privilege. When so many Americans are starving and lacking the basic necessities, the government should not be spending so many millions on the military and destructive things. Every Thursday, Food Not Bombs volunteers meet to collect fresh food from farmers' markets and restaurants that would otherwise be thrown away and cook a hot, nutritious meal for the homeless and hungry. We feel that through this action we are making a statement about the distribution of resources in our society, as well as the massive amounts of food and resources that are wasted.

If you'd like to join us, please subscribe to our mailing list to receive weekly info.

Cooking is being done at various apartments, so the location changes every week. However, our schedule is similar each week:
~Pick-up from farmers market: 5:30pm
~Cooking: 8:00pm
~Distribution: 10:00pm

Food Not Bombs is an opportunity for students to interact with the homeless, socialize with people outside their usual circle, and have fun doing it. We encourage you to attend distribution as this is the most fun and rewarding part of the process, but we always need help for pick-up and cooking as well. Don't hesitate to contact us with any questions!

Our chapter of FNB is part of a much larger international movement. Each FNB group is autonomous. To find out more about the organization, please visit their website at FoodnotBombs.net.
