This year, the Jazz/Reggae Festival is attempting to go green and promote sustainability in as many ways as possible. The theme is "A weekend of peace, love, and music.' This annual festival takes place over Memorial Day weekend and has become a UCLA institution. The sustainability initiative is an exciting way to introduce sustainability to a larger audience and utilize a large social event to promote social and environmental awareness.

SJA members are welcome to join the JRF Sustainability Committee if they are interested in working on implementing sustainable policies at the UCLA Jazz/Reggae Festival. Areas include recycling, energy, vendors/sponsors, resources, hospitality, media. Contact bensona@ucla.edu if you're interested in being on this committee.
