About UCLA Tango ClubThe Tango Club at UCLA is a group of friendly, laid-back students who learn argentine tango by classes at UCLA and outside, practice tango at weekly practicas, and host monthly dances ("milongas") as well as workshops taught by outside professional tango instructors. Beginners and non-UCLA public are welcome to attend! More information about dance events in the Los Angeles area can be found at Tango Afficionado and the Caltech Tango Club website.

The Tango Club at UCLA is currently sponsored by Very Fine Dance Shoes, which has offered us great deals on dance shoes!
Milongas (A night of dancing!)
Our milonga is a perfect place to meet new and returning members, as well as dancers from the LA tango community. Attire is casual to semi formal. For your comfort, please wear shoes that stay on well (no flip flops) and slide well (dress shoes for men and heels for ladies). We recommend close-toed shoes for the ladies to protect your toes. Refreshments will be provided. No partner necessary. Please stop by anytime to check us out! For more info please email us at uclatango@gmail.com, or join our Tango Club Listserver. A huge thanks to all the volunteers, instructors, and performers at our previous milongas! PGBS Tango OrchestraJoin us as we experience the growth and development a new tango band--the PGBS Tango Orchestra Project, under the guidance of Pablo Goldstein and Bernard Selling. The orchestra, which rehearses for two hours before each milonga, then plays for dancing for half an hour or so, at 9:00 pm, consists of four violins, two cellos, bass, keyboard and several singers. Accordionist Goldstein and saxophonist Selling are also accomplished flutists. We are all amazed at the beautiful, dynamic sound this orchestra has achieved in such a short time.
See pictures here (you'll need to register for a free snapfish account) Orango Tango (dancing in unusual locations)We've had Orango Tangos at a beach and at a mall. Both were fun and we plan on doing them again! We are also up to trying other locations; email us if you have any ideas. We will send out emails through the mailing list for future Orango Tango events.
