The Den's Constitution

Here's our mission statement. It's the current version of the Constitution that governs The Den and its proceedings. It is not a final version. To read it in full, please check the link on the right. That is the best place to get a complete, in-detail description; however, below are some quick summaries of what the constitution details.

Den Points:
Den Points are a new idea. Essentially, you get points for attending certain events and participating in certain things or helping out The Den in various ways. After reaching certain acculumated point levels, you will be eligible to recieve certain prizes donated by corporations to reward you for your dedication. The point breakdown is (quarterly points are detailed in the Full Text PDF):

1 point: Attending a Den Event of the Week
2 points: Attending a golDen Game (and fulfilling any special requirements for that event)
1 point: Attending a All-Members Den Meeting
1 point: Volunteering to help serve The Den; as assigned by The Den Executive Board

Athletic Council:
This is a Council headed by the Athletic Coordinator (Den Executive Member); each quarter, a single person is selected to represent a particular sport. They are to act as a pseudo-liason for the team to the Den Executive Board. They will function to help pick the Go-Den Game for that sport as well as make sure The Den knows about any special events that are going on with that team. Den Points for participating.

Dirt From The Den Contributor:
Perhaps the most visible aspect of The Den, the Dirt From The Den (DFTD) is the newsletter published by The Den at every home football (and every other year for the away USC game) and basketball game (and 1 Special Issue for the USC campout). Serving on this can range from anything from Editor to Scouting Report writer to Dirt writer to Researcher. As of now, if you want to help out, contact TheDen@ucla.edu and we'll see what you can do to help. It is managed directly by the Editor and in a general sense by the Communications Coordinator.
