WHO ARE WE?
The UCLA Undergraduate Science Journal was established by members of the student body at the University of California, Los Angeles in order to:

• provide an opportunity for undergraduates to present and publish research findings,
  
• promote the exposure of UCLA undergraduates to the university research community, and
  
• provide a new venue for interaction between faculty and students.

The UCLA Undergraduate Science Journal is located in Life Sciences 2103, within the offices of the Undergraduate Research Center (URC).  You can reach the staff of the Journal at any time by e-mail, or by dropping by the USJ Office anytime during the posted hours of operation.

Staff Meetings for prospective Staff Members
If you are looking to be part of the USJ 2009-2010 Staff, please be aware of TWO meetings scheduled on 2nd and 8th Week of Fall 2009:

• Week 2:
  
  Wednesday, October 7, 2009
  Life Sciences Building, Room 2320
  6:30 to 8:00 pm.


• Week 8:
  
  Wednesday, November 18, 2009
  Life Sciences Building, Room 2320
  6:30 to 8:00 pm.

If you missed the first meeting and are still interested in being part of the Staff, we still encourage you to submit your application on time and make sure to attend the second meeting on November 18.

USJ is accepting applications for Staff Members for the year 2009-2010!
USJ is looking for talented and committed reviewers and editors for next year's Board! We are accepting applications for positions in the Review Board (Physical Sciences), Review Board (Biological Sciences), Editorial Board, and Layout Board.

Staff Responsibilities

Completed application forms must be emailed to usjUCLA@gmail.com on or before October 31, 2009 at 5:00 pm. Hard-Copies must be turned in to the USJ office at Life Science Building 2103 by 4:00 pm on Friday, October 30, 2009.

We are also looking for students who want their research findings published in Volume 23, Spring 2010. Please check back often for updates regarding manuscript submissions and writing workshops.

To give visitors a better idea of what USJ is about, a few more articles will be added to the Archives section. Please visit the Archives section for articles previously published in the USJ.

Author Deadlines
The deadline for article submissions to USJ Volume 23 is WEDNESDAY, January 6, 2010 at 5:00 pm. Writers are more than welcome to turn in submissions before the deadline.
