John began playing rugby in school in Scotland when he was eight years old. After completing high school -- where he was the co-captain and highest point scorer for his U17 team -- John played for the highly respected Dundee High School Former Pupils. This Division I club has produced over a dozen international players and four British Lions; Scotland's national team coach was also in the program. In 1981, John moved to England and also switched from playing #11 (Wing) to playing #10 (Flyhalf). Just a few years later, John became involved on the coaching side of rugby as well. John is also the backs coach for Senior Griffins -- Southern California's select side, head coach for Eaglerock Men's Rugby and has held several clinics for various college and Division I clubs in the Southern California area.
We're looking forward to a winning 2010-11 season with John at the helm!
