UCLA vs. UCSD B-Side Match — March 4, 2007

Due to the length of the first match, the Bruins were able to play only a short second match. Fear not, we still have some great highlights.

First kickoff to UCLA. Urena was quick at scrum half, getting off the scrum and attacking the UCSD scrum half. She put on great pressure. UCSD put on their own pressure, however, and Schmidt was forced to kick, deep and far, giving the Bruins some breathing room. Unfortunately, UCSD was able to bring the ball back for a try. UCLA 0 — UCSD 5.

Early in the second half, Chui found herself in the sin bin for high tackles. That's okay, she was aggressive. Berenberg was quick to every ruck, finding herself in the midst of contact throughout the whole match. The Bruins had good tackles, getting every UCSD player in the backline. Chene, back from an injury, made great catches and returns. UCSD ended the match with another try, finishing the match UCLA 0 — UCSD 10.

In the tradition of our Senior Award, the Junior Award was given to Miriam Urena. Urena made a great go at scrum half today. Congratulations Miriam.
